Prospective schedule of ongoing JHI Torah study programming for after Sukkot


9:30 AM - 11:30 AM: IN DEPTH TALMUD - at Rabbi Ganz's apartment,

11 Magazine St., Cambridge, Mass 02139.

Typically, a topic discussed in the Talmud is chosen and then studied over a period of 6-8 weeks in a profound and interactive manner. A yeshiva background is not required. Although the material is studied from the original texts, English translations are provided for those who require them.


7:30 - 8:45 PM IN DEPTH CHOCHMAT HAMUSSAR - for couples - at Rabbi Ganz's apartment.

This class focuses on excerpts from the Talmud or its classic commentaries pertaining to the weekly synagogue Torah reading - the Parshat Hashavuah.  The psychological, moral and religious ideas contained therein are explored through a give and take exchange of ideas on the meaning of the text. As in the case of the Talmud class, the material is studied from original texts, but English translations are provided.




12:30 - 1:30 PM - at Harvard Business School

5:00 - 6:00 PM Rabb Hall at Harvard Hillel

Both of the above are on the topic of CHOCHMAT HAMUSSAR - the same class as Sunday 7:30 PM


8:00 - 10:00 PM - IN DEPTH TALMUD

at Rabbi Ganz's apartment

Same class as Sunday 9:30 AM

8:00 9:00 PM Mesilat Yesharim The classic 18th Century work on the sevice of G-d. At Rabbi Milder's house taught by Rabbi Milder



 12:00 1:00 PM Moral lessons gleaned from the weekly Torah portion at the Harvard School of Public Health taught by Rabbi Milder (the same class as Wednesday 12:00 1:00 PM)


12:00-1:00 PM Ethical teachings of Ohr Hatzafun by Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel

at Harvard Law School taught by Rabbi Daniel Zuckerman

8:00-9:30 Review of the weekly Talmud class at Rabbi Ganz's house taught by Rabbi Milder




Mincha, Seudah Shlishit with class on Halacha (Torah law) followed by Maariv

This program begins roughly 35 minutes before sunset at Rabbi Ganz's apartment. However, it is not conducted every week. The attempt will be made hereafter to post the status of the week's minyan on this page no later than an hour before sunset on Friday.
